Job Description
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Business Office Manager, manages assigned accounts receivable to maximize collections amount and minimize collection time. Performs appropriate follow up on accounts via telephone calls and letters to ensure proper reimbursement is received. Submits insurance claims in a timely and accurate fashion, using electronic or paper media as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. College courses in business or medical field desired. Experience: Minimum of two years experience in billing and collections in a physician office or medical clinic. Experience in general/medical office procedures and in dealing with the public. Other Requirements: Strength in medical terminology and billing/collection practices. Have good organizational and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work at a fast and steady pace, often with repetitive tasks. Superior phone skills and pleasant, professional interactions with patients and insurance companies required. Computer experience desired.
