Scott is originally from the state of Nebraska and received a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine from the University of Nebraska-Kearny. He then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Alabama. While pursuing this degree, Scott had the honor of working for two summers as the head Athletic Trainer for the Mobile Baysharks minor league baseball team. After working for two years in a physical therapy clinical setting, he decided to return to the world of academia and received another Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001. Scott has been working as a Physical Therapist for Florida Spine Institute since 2002. His clinical interests include sports injuries, spine disorders and chronic pain syndromes with a focus on treatment that includes manual therapy and patient education for prevention. He has developed a special treatment program for chronic pain sufferers entitled The Functional Pain Management Program. This is a specialized treatment program targeted to the patient with chronic pain that focuses on patient education and self management of their condition.
