Rotator Cuff Injury
The rotator cuff is made up of four major muscles and tendons that connect your upper arm with your shoulder blade. They also help hold the ball of your upper arm firmly in the shoulder socket. Injuries to the rotator cuff are fairly common. Causes can include falling, lifting and repetitive arm activities.
Arthritis
The term arthritis means inflammation of the joint. Osteoarthritis is a degeneration of the joint due to wear and tear. A less common form of arthritis is rheumatoid which is an inflammatory disease that causes pain, swelling, stiffness and loss of function.
Epicondylitis
Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) is a common injury that occurs in the tendon below the outer edge of the elbow joint. Medial epicondylitis (golfers elbow) is an overuse injury that occurs on the inner part of the elbow.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a narrow passageway located on the palm side of your hand. Within this tunnel there are your main nerves to your hand and tendons that allow your fingers to move. If pressure is placed on these nerves you may experience numbness, pain and eventually even weakness.
Patellar Tracking Disorder
Patellar tracking disorder occurs when the kneecap shifts out of place as your leg bends or straightens.
Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis causes a stabbing or burning pain that typically is worse in the morning due to the tighteningo f the fascia overnight. Typically, once you are up the pain decreases, but may return after sitting or standing for long periods
Ankle Sprains
A sprained ankle occurs when the ligaments are forced beyond their normal range of motion which results in a stretching or tearing of these ligaments.
Achilles Tendon Injuries
The Achilles tendon connects your heel to the muscles of your lower leg. Causes of Achilles tendon injuries are overuse, misalignment, improper footwear and/or accidents.
