Dr. Jones was born in Arlington, Texas and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Charleston Southern University while playing for the Division I women’s soccer team. She then went on to medical school in Ft. Worth at the University of Texas Health Science Center where she was the Sports Medicine Club President and helped organize the school’s first 5K run, The D.O. Dash. During her last 2 years in school, she conducted research on marathon related injuries and earned her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine in 2005. After graduation, she completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Pursuant to her personal and medical interest in sports and sport-related injuries, Dr. Jones completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the world renowned Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. There she participated in the medical care of high school, collegiate, military, and semi-professional sports teams as well as the care of individual athletes of all ages and levels. While at the Hughston Clinic, Dr. Jones conducted research on elbow arthroscopy for treatment of lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and on the long term results of patients, over the age of 60, who underwent ACL reconstruction.
Dr. Jones’ practice encompasses treatment of all extremity problems including sports injuries, trauma, and arthritis with particular emphasis on arthroscopic procedures, ligament reconstruction, and cartilage restoration.
